WE'VE HAD A SELECTION OF OUR CHICKEN PRODUCTS MEASURED FOR CO2 FROM FARM TO FORK

At De Danske Familiegårde we are on a journey to learn more about our carbon footprint. That's why we've commissioned independent climate calculation experts from the Carbon Trust to measure the carbon footprint of our chicken products - from the time the chicken hatches until it lands on your plate.

We are proud to be the first chicken producers in Denmark to have the Carbon Trust label on our products. With Carbon Trust, we can, together with you as a consumer, gain more knowledge about the carbon footprint of our products and use it as a starting point for the journey ahead.

The selected products included in the calculations are subsequently awarded a Carbon Trust CO2 measured label on the packaging. This means that the product's carbon footprint has been measured and that the measurement is certified.

Note: The Carbon Trust CO2 measured label does not mean that the product has a climate benefit compared to other similar products.

How do you measure the C02 footprint of a chicken?

In a nutshell

We have engaged a specialized and independent climate accounting organization to calculate our carbon footprint across our entire value chain at the product level - from farm to fork - from the time the chicken hatches until it lands on the plate.

About the calculations and results

The model used to measure the product carbon footprint is built exclusively for Scandi Standard, which owns Danpo, and the calculations are based on primary data from the organization when available. For data that is not available, estimates or secondary data have been used in accordance with standard practice and the international standard used.
