Danpo, part of Scandi Standard, fully supports Agenda 2030, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a result of our activities, we have an impact on several of the SDGs and a great responsibility and opportunity to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs and their targets.
Here is a description of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for which we as a company have the greatest responsibility and the greatest opportunity to make a difference.
Scandi Standard can use healthy and protein-rich products to facilitate access to safe and nutritious food for all. We also have a significant responsibility, together with our producers and other actors in our value chain, to ensure that we develop sustainable methods of food production. In line with our work on climate and biodiversity, we strive to increase transparency in the value chain and promote collaboration and development.
As a significant employer and player in our home markets, Scandi Standard has the opportunity to contribute to sustainable economic growth and increase resource efficiency at the production and consumption stages. We achieve this by applying a value chain perspective where we work to optimize efficiency and reduce overall waste and food waste at each stage. We also take responsibility for our employees' working conditions and work environment by using a structured and systematic approach. In addition, we also work proactively with suppliers to ensure human rights compliance throughout the value chain.
Ensuring sustainable production and consumption patterns is at the core of our operations. This contributes to the UN SDGs and improves the efficiency and profitability of our operations. As a food manufacturer, one of our most important tasks is to reduce food waste and other waste - within our own production processes and throughout the value chain - by collaborating with suppliers, customers and end consumers. We also work proactively to integrate sustainability data into our reporting cycles, such as our quarterly, annual and sustainability reports.
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time, and Scandi Standard is systematically working to identify and analyze the risks associated with climate change. We also work to make chicken part of the solution by setting science-based climate targets that are linked to our entire value chain.
As a player in the food production value chain, Scandi Standard is dependent on a well-functioning ecosystem and biodiversity. In this respect, we develop targets and key parameters that encompass the entire value chain, and we are currently working proactively to address soy and deforestation - by using certified soy and looking for alternatives to soy in chicken feed.
