Our free-range chickens live an active life with plenty of fresh air and physical activity.
Our free-range chickens live an active life with plenty of daylight, fresh air and physical activity. The chickens decide whether they want to be outside or inside and when they want to eat and drink. Outside, they can lay in the tall grass or under some bushes, or they can scratch the ground - one of the chickens' favorite pastimes.
They are hatched and raised by the same farm family.
The outdoor areas are natural terrain, which makes the chickens feel safe and at home and can relax. They are a slow-growing breed, which makes them healthy and strong. The freedom they experience on Danish Family Farms is so close to a natural chicken life that the chickens are recommended by Animal Protection Denmark. In addition, the free-range chickens have 3 hearts in the animal welfare label.
Our free-range chickens have also been carbon-measured by climate experts from the Carbon Trust, so we know our chickens' carbon footprint from farm to fork, making both us and you smarter about our carbon footprint.
The chickens are slaughtered at a small slaughterhouse in Himmerland.
